0 Single Speed World Championships 2011, IrelandWe headed down to Ballyhoura to check out the action at SSWC 2011, and it was definitely worth the trip. It was MENTAL!!! By far the most colourful and manic cycling event we have ever witnessed. Anyone can enter the event and you don’t have to pre-qualify. But it is highly recommended you at least throw on last year’s Halloween costume or whip an outfit together with fabric, duct tape and spare parts! We saw some pretty awesome costumes down there. Check out the link for more SSWC info http://www.sswc2011.ie/about/

This year’s race was won Niall Davis (Ireland) and Heather Holmes (USA) who toke their prize of a tattoo on their and triceps with honour and grace, and only a couple of tears. The tattoos were inked by Paul Bullman from Bullman Tattoo Studio in Limerick.

It’s off to South Africa for SSWC 2012, who won the honour to host the event in dramatic fashion in the Locke Bar in Limerick, beating teams from USA, Canada and Israel. Check out the end of the video to witness the mayhem!

Well done to Sports ai and everyone else involved in making this year’s SSWC an awesome event!

Get your to South Africa for SSWC 2012!!!!
