I am trying to get a good irish/german tattoo?

I want to get a tattoo and would like it to draw together the two sides of my family heritage. I would like to either get a celtic symbol or a four leaf clover for the irish side and for the german side I would like to get an iron cross. does anyone have any ideas as to how to draw the two together into one tattoo?

that is very creative you can print out the pictures and give them to the tattoo artist and he can draw something up for you and see if u lyk it

Actually, there’s crosses that are associated with Ireland/Celtic also:

whereas the German cross, still holds some negative impressions, because it was on helmets etc. in WW11:

There is a ‘German Eagle’ symbol that is quite old:
    DEUTSCHE WAPPEN
    (Landeswappen, Gemeindewappen)
"The German eagle is already an old national symbol for the Kings and Emperors of Germany, or its predecessors."

There is the Destilfink, from Pennsylvania Dutch Hex signs, which is old German heritage, you could put it in the center of a Celtic cross:

It is a symbol of happiness.
If you went with the German cross, you could have an ancient Celtic/Irish symbol in the center, like this peacock, "The colorful tail of the peacock stands for the rays of the sun. But the peacock itself stands for immortality "

or a Celtic knot symbol (maybe done in a line, instead of thick) in the center:

    or a Celtic knot Shamrock:

So, basically with whatever cross you decide on you can put an image of the other country inside of it, either in a simple line, or solid image. You can put it inside a circle or by itself. You can have them make it look like it is resting on top of the cross or a part of it.
Your tattoo artist will help you pull your images together, taking in consideration size, detail, and anatomy, in the design.
    good luck~
