and does it hurt really bad?
You will likely change your mind before you are 18, but in the event that you don’t, follow this rule when deciding on placement:
Put it where you can show it when you want to but hide it when necessary.
As in the arms, hands, and the neck, are usually not good places. For a woman, the back, ankle and hip are good places.
Does it hurt? Yes, it does. How bad depends on where you put it, the amount of detail, and the size. It feels like a constant bee sting being dragged across your skin. From the 2 that I have, I can tell you that the outline is what hurts the most; once that’s over, the color is a piece of cake.

You will change your mind by the time you are 18. You don’t have to decide now. Remember that you will have job interviews in the real world when you grow up too. Make sure you think about it for a while. I did and I don’t regret any of my tattoos.

Look on the net for ideas of tattoos. You may change your mind several times by them but at least you will have an idea. Below are two really good sites with ideas.
Does it hurt? Yes, but it depends on how well you handle pain and where you put it. Usually over a bone is the worst (i.e. ankle, foot, shoulder blade, etc).

The two most obvious Irish symbols are the shamrock and the harp.
You could just have the word ‘Guinness’ !
