I am getting a tattoo on 7/11 to represent my two daughters. My grandmother was irish and passed away recently and I would like to have a little piece of her in there as well. I am looking for "pieces of my soul" to be translated. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Im getting a tattoo, my heritage is Irish and I want it to be in the correct form and everything. Its going to say "She is tossed by the waves, but she is not sunken" Can anyone help me out. I used google translator but it didnt translate it back to English correctly. Help!! Thank you!

But considering you are going to have the tattoo for life, you better make sure that its accurate.
I’d suggest emailing Conradh na Gaeilge and asking them for a translation. its the organisation here concerned with promoting the language. someone there will might help you out, or direct you towards someone who can.
My best friend of 18 years wants to get friendship tattoos. She wants to do the Chinese symbol for friendship but I think it is so normal and there are a couple different ways that I have seen. Everyone does Chinese symbols. I also don’t want the Irish symbol. I want something different but symbol. Help me please!
What has meaning for you both. A girlfriend of mine and I had matching tattoos done years ago…they are of a seagull in flight which represents freedom, the beach (we lived in Florida), and it was the emblem on the album cover of a band we both adored and whose music we listened to ad nauseum.
Two girlfriends and I, years later, got matching tattoos that we designed. We incorporated the elements of our sun signs (one of us was fire, another water) and the female symbol ♀ in chrome (to represent the friend who brought the other 2 of us together, and in chrome because she loved to ride motorcycles). The symbol is surrounded on one side by fire, the other by water. It’s very kewl.
I’ve also got an OM symbol which is special to another friend of mine, who also has that tattoo…and a dragon tattoo as another friend, to commemorate our trip to Wales this past Fall.
The options for you two are endless. The symbol or sign doesn’t have to say ‘friendship’ in any language, to represent the friendship you share.

My Great Uncle George embodied the spirit of the Irish Travelers. He was my favorite uncle. He would fascinate me with stories of Ireland when I was young. I would like like to find some symbol, icon or some way of showing that I identify with these people in the form of a tattoo. Any suggestions?
The Irish Traveller Movement have a logo on their site which comprises of a horseshoe and the letters ITM incorporated into a ‘trailer’ or mobile home picture. Perhaps you could use this sign.
