Celtic Tattoo Designs

One of my best friends died a month ago and i have been thinking about getting a tattoo in memory of her. But, i can’t seem to come across a design that i like. I had the thought of getting the claddagh with her name above it but im not sure if the symbol really fits the whole meaning. Any ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I was watching LA Ink about 4-6 months ago, and Kat had done a claddagh tattoo on some chick. She wasn’t irish, but embracing her fiance’s heritage and background. Hopefully that helps some. Thanks!

Okay, so I’m thinking of getting a small tattoo sometime in the near future. I turn 18 at the end of this year and want to get it sometime fairly soon after that. As long as I don’t need parent consent. :P I’m in Canada so I’m pretty sure it’s 18+ that you don’t need parental consent. Anyways, I have a few ideas but I’m not sure which I should get. I either want:
-A claddagh in colour.
-And ampersand (just black)
-A sparrow (black and shading)

Now, I want to get these somewhere where my parents won’t see it easily, somewhere I can hide it. Because my parents told me they’d kick me out of the house of I got one… :/ I don’t want it on my torso though, I’m not thin and it would just look bad. Preferably not somewhere that hurts more than normal. Anyways, your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Let me know what you think everyone :) Thank-you!

I just turned 18 a few months ago and got a tattoo right after I turned 18. My parents wouldn’t approve of it either. I got the words ‘One Judge’ on my left wrist in Greek. And I got it to where I could cover it with a watch. AND I am not thin either.

I don’t really like the idea of the ampersand… Not at all.
I really like the sparrow.

I’m getting married in about a year. I plan to have my wedding ring tattooed on my finger for two reasons: 1 I’m a mechanic and I don’t want my finger ripped off. and 2. Divorces are more expensive and painful than tattoo removal anyways.
So here’s the thing, I really like the symbolism behind the Claddagh ring and on top of that, they look cool. The only problem is that I’m not Irish (I mean, I’m white so I may be a little bit, but I honestly have no idea). Input on whether or not this would make me a poser or sorts would be much appreciated.
OK, so I just found out from my dad that I do have a little bit of Irish in me, but I’m still interested to hear your input.

Have you read up on the Claddagh? I mean, if you want to get that, you should. But just be prepared to answer many questions, if you should ever spark up conversation with an irish man or woman, lol. Congratulations!!
