i have two butterflies on my pelvic bone almost. the lighting is bad in the picture.the reddish looking one is a kind of magneta color & the bluish one is a turquoise looking color.

& i really like this one & want it on my lower back [they arent't tramp stamps!] with my grandfathers name in it. maybe with a halo ontop of it it ?? if not on my lower back would it look right on my shoulder?? i really dont like tattoos on a girls shoulder though.

how do u feel about ppl with Claddagh Ring tattoos they are suppose to be irish but im not irish! lol i lk this one though
for ppl who say "tattoos are personal" the two are to me. which is the heart w/ flower & the claddagh ring. & i want something that stands out so my butterflies wouldnt look so boring thank u very much. if ur gonna read my question dont answer it "u need to think about it it should be personal" blah blah blah ive thought about them & to me theyre not going to be pointless ! thankx
Maybe you have heard this already, but I gotta say it! Bear in mind I love tattoos!
If you get a big picture (like the first link) on your stomach like that and you think you want to be pregnant someday… it is without a doubt going to get stretch and distorted. Your butterflies are really cute and they are small enough that if they get messed up with a pregnancy they can be covered up with a big picture after you are done having babies. Maybe just something to think about.
My favorites of the link is the 2nd and 4th ones. I really don’t like the 3rd one at all! But that is just my style.
If you don’t like girl shoulder tattoos, please don’t get it there!! Just go for the lower back.
And lastly. I say who cares if you are Irish! If you like it, go for it.

Sweetie, tattoos are personal. You should not get them because someone else thinks they look good. You need to be sure that you are happy with it regardless of what anyone else thinks. That being said. I suggest you study those pictures, print them out, place them where you’re thinking of getting them, and decide for yourself if that’s what you want.

Your butterflies are quite nice, and well done, by the by.
The pictures of other people’s tattoos are good for inspiration, but you should never copy any one else’s tattoo designs (stealing), and mainly, you should find your images from sources other than ‘tattoos’.
Butterflies are from nature, they live outside, this is where you will find unique and beautiful images to go with your butterflies, to have your artist turn into a tattoo design.
Now, as far as placement, yes you can have beautiful flowers and vines etc. all over your lower stomach, but be aware that if you need a C – section, it will cut right through it. You would need quite a repair tattoo. Some women have had tattoos over their C – section scars, and this ends up looking pretty cool though. Just keep this in mind.
You may want to keep things at your hips, and possibly around the side, or going up.
I think that flowers and vines are excellent for you.

Finding your images in the art world and history can be good too.
As far as the ‘old school’ heart and flowers and banner idea for your grandfather, this is nice, but you may want to keep your style along the same vein as however you choose to do the butterfly area.
Your artist can do this with the heart and flowers, or you could have a banner with similar flowers, or one flower with a beautiful script of his name. Or you could find a small image that is of something connected to your grandfather.
But I suggest that you focus on one tattoo idea at a time. Your images will end up much better this way.
As far as the Claddagh Ring, I’d just put that on hold. There is no hurry, you can be tattooed every year for the rest of your life, and your ideas will change. Take your time.

I really don’t like the 1st one. 2-4 are all good. Just get a design like that with all the twists, maybe some flowers, just to spice things up. Make sure you find a good tattoo artist who knows what s/he’s doing.
The last one not gonna lie I’m not too crazy about it. It’s too typical. Maybe just get a heart, with your grandfather’s initials in it, and then a halo over it.
