If you are a christian is it a sin to get a tattoo?
The Old Testament forbids getting tattoos. And Jesus said that those laws will remain operative until Heaven and Earth have passed away.
So the answer is yes.
I really want a small cute saying tattoo in italian and i want to put my dads initals with it.. can anyone help me maybe with words or like a small design?

It has a norse warrior in front of the flags of Sweden & Norway, the two countries of his heritage, with the family name underneath.
Then last week he saw a show about prison which mentioned viking tattoos as being related to white supremacists.
He is not racist in any way, but now is having second thoughts about the tattoo. From my research, viking-related racist tattoos seem to be the rune of Odin symbol. A very few are the (historically-inaccurate) horned vikings of popular culture accompanied by a swastika or white-power-related sign.
My design includes none of these symbols & the (hornless) warrior is meant as a symbol of his heritage. I don’t like the idea of all markers of our roots being co-opted for despicable uses. Why should vikings or shamrocks be considered racist, any more than African/Native American tribal patterns or Puerto Rican flags? That said, I recognize the swastika once meant something entirely different & don’t want people to assume he’s racist.
HI there … even the celtic cross spiritual Irish and christianity has been used by white supremacists.
I think i saw the program … and to be honest thats the first i heared of it too.
The hijacking of symbols by groups is nothing new…. My wife and I have a tattoo of chakra colors .. basically colors red orange yellow green blue indigo and purple…. Not a gay pride rainbow. The rainbow always a symbol of happyness etc was taken to depict the gay movement.
Basically I dont think there are many who would know the alledge rasist meaning behind a viking tattoo. You se many at the conventions on men and women… especially european and they are not racist ..

In short, they organized effectively, got jobs for the boys (police, fire, civil service, construction), and took political advantage of their numerical plurality and later majority in metropolitan Boston.
